Ever since I can remember I was taking pictures. I know my parents never liked it at first because I went through rolls of Agfa 50 quicker than toilet paper. A roll of film cost about $30 to develop back then. My curiosity with cameras lead me to tinkering around with old ww2 Nikon hand-me-downs and I even got my hands on the first Nikon F camera ever made. At age 16 I got my first camera, a Nikon n60. I was instantly hooked!
I learned to develop my skill by reading two books in particular, John Shaw’s Nature Photography Field Book, and Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. I soon read every other book published by John and Bryan. Although not my primary profession there are few things I'd rather be doing than traveling and capturing the beauty of the natural world.
“It can be a trap of the photographer to think that his or her best pictures were the ones that were hardest to get." – Timothy Allen
